RVTool è un programma gratuito che consente di generare un report completo di tutte le informazioni che riguardano una infrastruttura VMware.
Dopo aver eseguito il programma RVTool, verrà richiesto l’inserimento del Virtual Center e un utente abilitato. Dopo alcuni istanti verrà visualizzata in una comoda interfaccia l’intera configurazione di tutti i componenti registrati nel Virtual Center.
Altra funzione molto utile è la possibilità di fare una esportazione di tutti questi dati nei formati CSV e Excel. I dati esportati poi potranno essere elaborati in Excel e con opportuni filtri sarà possibile ottenere delle informazioni che all’interno di VMware Vsphere non è sempre possibile visualizzare in maniera chiara. Ad esempio è molto utile per verificare se sono presenti delle VM con VMwre tools da aggiornare.

RVTools is able to list information about VMs, CPU, Memory, Disks, Partitions, Network, Floppy drives, CD drives, Snapshots, VMware tools, Resource pools, Clusters, ESX hosts, HBAs, Nics, Switches, Ports, Distributed Switches, Distributed Ports, Service consoles, VM Kernels, Datastores, Multipath info and health checks.
